Book Review - Thief by Malorie Blackman
Book review- Thief by Malorie Blackman
Thief by Malorie Blackman is a fantastic time travelling/ in the future story for all ages.
It was published in 1995.

Lydia runs away from home because she is accused of being thief, and is whirled into a storm that takes her into the future, were her old town is controlled by an evil tyrant. She needs to get back to her own time but there is a huge problem…
Lydia is the main character and she is one of my favourites because everything happens to her (she’s the victim), but she tries to be the hero. That leads me onto her brother Daniel; he tries to be the hero as well but is the one who is causing most of the trouble.
There were some parts of the story that made me laugh, like when Lydia and Daniel are tied up and are being watched by Frankie. Frankie (who is meant to make sure they don’t move) then cuts their rope and lets them free, causing a big chase. And when Lydia and Frankie show the head teacher showing Anne confess…
I absolutely loved Thief and thought it was a sweet but action packed story. At some points I just couldn’t put the book down. Great!

Below is my Review. Please remember this is my first review.
Review: Film: Dream Girls
Film Review: Dream Girls

Beyonce Knowles who plays Deena, one of the band members
Eddie Murphy (played Donkey in Shrek) who play the legendary singer James " Thunder" Early.
Jennifer Hudson (American Idol runner up in 2007) who plays Effie one of the strongest singers in the group.
The Plot:
Set in the 60s, three soul singers try to get in the music industry but people keep turning them down. They finally get the chance to show people what they are made of, and get to back up one of the legends James " Thunder" Early. Then when people have finally realised that they have potential to sing on there own, Curtis Taylor and Effie’s brother decide to put Deena in lead, which upsets Effie.
Best Bits:
When Effie has an argument with the other members of the group. Instead of shouting her argument she sings it with power and emotion. Not forgetting all the singing.
Fave Characters:
Effie because she has a great voice and just her personality.
Lorrell is another one of my favourites because she plays the youngest and she is very funny.
Any weak bits:
It was a bit of a sudden ending.
Hit or Miss:
I would say definitely a hit; I’ll run to the shops when it comes out on DVD.

Report: What I think of the Playground Ban?
What I think of the playground ban!
The other day I heard that a school in Lincolnshire had banned contact playground games. One of them, which is a very popular game, called "Tag". They banned the game because they thought it was too rough.
Break time is the time where we can have fun. Running around is part of it. Without having a break we wouldn’t be able to work properly.
Playing contact games like Tag can be a lot of fun but it can be dangerous at times.
So with that in mind, I can see why teachers have banned the game.
However I do think that it’s a bit unfair, mainly because it’s an enjoyable game and even though you fall over its part of growing up.
So all in all I think that St John's Primary should stop being such a drag and bring back Tag!

Report and Review
Hi!
Today I have been working on a Film review for the film Dream Girls.
I have actually finished my rough and just need to do a little editing here and there.
